Buffon happy with City decision
Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is pleased with his decision not to join Manchester City (6/1 to win the Europa League with Bet 365) as he believes the team have a poor defence.
The Juventus shot stopper was a transfer target for the Premier League’s big spenders whilst they were managed by Mark Hughes.
However Buffon has stated that he never seriously considered leaving the Turin club for a move to Eastlands.
He said: “I knew of Manchester City’s interest in me a couple of years ago and, while I was never close to signing, I can now see that I made the right decision.
“They have signed some great players but I get the feeling they are signing great players for the sake of signing them.”
“But they don’t have one defender that would even get near the Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United team,” he added.
Joe Hart is the current first choice keeper at City (13/2 to win the FA Cup with Bet 365) and the England international has had a strong start to the season with an impressive performance against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the season.
